Dr. Peter Prestia grew up in the Chicagoland area. He obtained his Bachelors Degree in Animal Science from the University of Illinois in 2013. He then attended St. George’s University, College of Veterinary Medicine in Grenada, West Indies. He completed his clinical year at the University of Tennessee and graduated with his DVM in 2018.
His medical interests include small animal emergency, surgery, and internal medicine, as well as exotic/zoo medicine. Throughout veterinary school he participated in many exotic-based activities including assisting with sea turtle research in Grenada, a research project with tigers at the University of Tennessee, as well as a veterinary course in South Africa. He is excited to jump back into working with exotics, while still keeping up with his love for small animal medicine.
In his spare time, he enjoys being outdoors, including hiking and exploring new beaches. He also enjoys exploring new restaurants, traveling as much as possible, working out, and spending time with his family and friends. He has a dog, who came home with him from Grenada, who currently lives in Chicago with his parents. He eventually hopes to add another companion to his life here in California.
