Dr. Nisha Mitra was born in India and later moved to the States to Saint Louis, Missouri when she was 7 years old. She obtained her Bachelors in Animal Science at the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2012. She attended St. George’s University, College of Veterinary Medicine in Grenada and then finished her clinical year at North Carolina State.
Her interests include small animal internal medicine, emergency medicine, anesthesia, exotics and wildlife. Throughout veterinary school, she spent time in Belize, South Africa and the Galapagos Islands working with small animal and various wildlife. These experiences have made her appreciate the different approaches to veterinary medicine and she hopes to continue to have opportunities to do so throughout her career.
In her free time, she enjoys traveling, scuba diving, spending time outdoors with family and friends, trying new recipes and reading. She has a dog that currently lives with her sister but is looking to add a four-legged friend to my life in Thousand Oaks very soon!
