Dr. Matzuka is originally from a small town south of Chicago. This Midwesterner completed her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry at Beloit College in Wisconsin.
The warm weather and progressive new veterinary school enticed her to move to Los Angeles. Dr. Matzuka received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Western University of Health Sciences in 2007 as part of the charter class. She graduated as a member of the Phi Zeta Honor Society. After graduation she completed a small animal internal medicine, surgical, emergency, and critical care internship at Veterinary Medical and Surgical Group in Ventura.
Prior to working at CVVH, Dr. Matzuka was at Studio City Animal Hospital for 8 years. Dr. Matzuka enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, but is particularly fond of internal medicine, emergency, abdominal ultrasonography, and educating clients on their pet’s health.
When she is not taking care of your loved ones, you may find her at the beach, traveling, salsa dancing, or running half marathons/marathons. She has completed over 10 marathons, and has ran the Boston marathon 4 years in a row. The four loves of her life are her three cats, and her supportive husband Byron.
