Dr. Eric Kane is originally from Oak Park, where he grew up and also now resides. Set on the path to become a veterinarian since 11 years old, when his dog Ginger had puppies, he went off to obtain his B.S. in Animal Science/Pre-Vet at beautiful Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo in the mid-1990s. Working for a little over a year as a kennel boy and then veterinary assistant to gain practical experience, he continued next to UC Davis where he earned his DVM in 2003. All the while, pet dogs and cats by his side.
After 3 years gaining good, early experience at a busy 4 doctor practice in Fairfield, CA, Dr. Kane returned to his hometown of Oak Park to remember what family living close by felt like. He has since been doing his best helping the dogs and cats of Agoura Hills and surrounding areas, working for the last 8 years at Agoura Hills Animal Hospital. Grateful for the fantastic clients and patients he has met there, and the experiences he will take with him, he hopes to continue relationships with whoever can make the extra drive.
Based on his inherent passion for dogs and cats, Dr. Kane has focused his first decade of veterinary service on these two most popular pets. Aware that CVVH is known for their exotic/bird/pocket pet care and compassion, he is excited about the knowledge and expertise surrounding him in his colleagues, so that he can absorb all that he can, expand his skills and offer his hand in helping these other interesting creatures.
When not learning more about his profession, Dr. Kane works on learning more about how to keep his wife, Jonell (an RVT who he has worked with for almost 8 years, and a couple for 7 years – married 3), happy and how to keep his dogs Kong (the one eyed pug) and Duchess (the Chihuahua princess) from soiling the carpets. He’s either hanging with his wife and pets at home (also includes big kitty Bobo), reading non-fiction history involving medieval and modern dynasty, power and war, trying to stay somewhat fit by jogging and lifting some weights, or enjoying his long time passion of being an ‘I only perform at home’ singer/songwriter and guitar player.
