Dr. Lockwood was born in Laguna Hills, California but raised in the suburbs of Fort Worth, Texas. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Findlay in Ohio graduating with her Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science and Biology in 2014. She continued on to receive her DVM at Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine, as well as a gold level business certification from the National Veterinary Business Management Association. Throughout her time at school Dr. Lockwood received a well-rounded education in a variety of species from cats and dogs, to wildlife and zoo animals seen through externships.
During her summers she was fortunate enough to experience veterinary medicine around the world in places including South Africa, Belize, Guatemala, Nicaragua, and Thailand.
Her professional interests are broad and include exotic and wildlife medicine, soft tissue surgery, anesthesiology, radiology, veterinary forensics, conservation medicine, international medicine, and epidemiology/public health.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her pets, a German Shepherd named Sebastian and a calico cat named Baby Kitty. She also enjoys a variety of outdoor activities including hiking, swimming, and scuba diving, however her favorite pastime remains to be traveling around the world experiencing new places and cultures.
